Not impressed with this place. My boyfriend had his first day today, he got 2 hours into the day and was then chosen for a random spot check, which I understand. He had his phone in his pocket, TURNED OFF, as he had seen the signs that said phones must be off. They then told him he has to leave the premises and that he had a disciplinary due to having his phone in his pocket. He was not told at any point that he wasn’t allowed his phone on his person. He got showed around the premises, didn’t get shown fire exits or told any safety procedures. He didn’t get allocated a locker to leave his belongings in, so assumed he could have his phone in his pocket as he didn’t want to leave it lying around. He has been out of work for a few months now due to an injury, and has now been discouraged due to how he has been treated by the staff. This company needs to make sure they explain all procedures and rules to all new employees to ensure no one else has to go through this. He was treated unfairly after making a genuine mistake and working hard for the few hours he was there.
