Went a few weeks ago after trying the braidwood branch, was delicious! The team were very attentive and the food was great! Had my favourite which is a chasni and my other half chose something from the vegan menu which was full of choice - not something he often gets at other places! Will be back!

We have been twice now. The food is good but not great. We will go back but it's not at the top of the list of restaurants to go to.

Considering we often pick up takeaway but never ate in the restaurant I was expecting more tbh. The pakora portions for starter were depressingly mean compared to takeaway. Chicken pakora was also lukewarm. Main courses were good size and my lamb dish very good. Naan was nice but again a bit mean small size. It was a warm evening and we also had the less than lovely view of the bins from their emergency exit door that was open next to the bar. Also used dish towels draped over the radiator there didn’t seem too hygienic. Oh well, don’t imagine I’ll be rushing back. The Indian Times in Stonehouse does a much better sit down meal.

I reviewed this on a previous account years ago and gave it 5 stars…how the mighty have fallen. I hope this review prompts the Taal to up the quality of their food and portion size, they have become very tight with portions. I usually order a chicken tikka chasni and recently (last year or so) they have become bland and quite frankly rubbish.

They also have an act for not giving you your full order and we find ourselves having to re-order rice etc…which becomes a nightmare especially in bigger groups sitting in.

Staff are all friendly enough and it’s a nice place but food quality and portions are lacking and I suspect over the last year or 2 has had a change in chef because it was so good for so long it can’t be the same chef!

Best curry we've had in ages!!!!

Booked this restaurant for the second night of our Babymoon stay in Strathaven and it didn't disappoint!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very modern with a traditional twist.

We were spoiled for choice as the menu had a lot to offer and the smell of the food cooking made me want to sample everything!

My partner decided on the Aloo Chana Poori for starters and I got the Mushroom Poori and then for our mains my partner got the Chicken Tikka Makhani Masala and I opted for the Chicken Tikka Punjabi Farms which had a lovely little kick to it!
We went for plain pilau rice and and a Garlic Naan bread for the sides which was huge!!! The waiter described it as the size of an Elephants ear and he was not far wrong!!!

Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish, would 100% recommend and would definitely visit again if we ever came back to Strathaven!

Ordered a Lamb Bhoona and king prawn Masala. The portion size was good, however the curries were extremely bland and watery with very little flavour at all. I would have got a better dish at a supermarket if im being honest. Very disappointing for an Indian resteraunt.

Lost a star for the tough lamb on Saturday. Two of us had the same dish and the meat was inedible. I'll put it down to a single bad batch, it's normally lovely.
