One of the best Sunday dinners I’ve had. They must have top chefs working here. Really enjoyed the food.

Service was brilliant. Staff squeezed us in at short notice. I can’t recall the servers name, but she was excellent. Very engaging and couldn’t do enough for you. Especially with our new born.

The portions are very generous and both myself and partner were stuffed just off the main course. The slices of 14hour slow cooked beef were as thick as my finger.

It was very reasonable priced in comparing with other Sunday lunches we have tried in the area (Cassop). I’d love to comment on the deserts as they look amazing, but couldn’t fit it in.

I did read reviews before visiting and some of them are crazy. Someone complained about paying for a gravy boat (it’s stated on the menu £1). Sides are £3.50 each, which I also think is very fair (our local is £4.95).

Overall, I think the service is outstanding, very cosy feel in the pub, staff couldn’t do more for you and I’d 100% recommend it.

Really looking forward to returning for some loaded fries or a parmo!

Visited this great pub today whilst staying at my daughters nearby .
Staff were very welcoming on arrival and very attentive during our visit.
We all had a Sunday dinner ,I chose the crispy belly pork and what a great choice,it was fantastic, one of the best I've had,and I've had a bad run of late in numerous restaurants where they just can't master the crispy element and it comes out like rubber, but not here👌.
Will definitely re visit when in the area.
Prices were £15 for a main dinner and a couple of quid for extra sides if needed, didn't sample any alcoholic beverages as was a little bit tender from the previous night hence the pint of coke 😄.

Plenty of tables abailable around 4pm Sunday, but was very busy 2pm.
Good food.
I recommend chicken pate starter. Brisket was just a bit dry, but still enjoyable, hot on the plate, cabbage wasn't overcooked.
Cheesecake was small, nothing special, but ok.
I don't think I'd order any of deserts next time.

First time here since it was taken over, absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch. I had sirloin and my wife had slow cooked brisket, just melted in your mouth. Various veg, cooked perfectly, topped with a lovely gravy. We were stuffed but couldn't resist a dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. 😋 Staff were so friendly and service was impeccable, can't wait to go back and try a steak as they look amazing...😍

Incredible!!

Possibly the best steak I've had!

The setting in the restaurant is gorgeous (country chic).

The service was amazing, professional, friendly and attentive.

We had charred salmon with buttered new potatoes and salad. As well as Cote de Boef with chunky chips, salad and peppercorn brown butter. Which was Insanely good!!

The Sunday lunches are out of this world but you have to book WELL in advance.

They also do a 3 course saver menu during the week too, which is brilliant value.

You absolutely MUST try here
