Very friendly, very efficient service and they were also very helpful! I had just ordered some furniture that required assembling. They put me in touch with Henrik who put up the shelving. He was brilliant. Super happy! Its five stars from me.

If I could leave no stars I would. Having accepted a delivery slot and taken time off work so I could be in the house, this company phone to tell me their van had broken down and it might be a week before they could deliver my item (which was extremely expensive). When I complained they told me they would try and sort it out and get back to me (they didn't). When I finally got through to them I was told it was out of their hands (though as it was the manager it felt more like he had no desire whatsoever to help resolve it) - a delivery company is apparently unable to find alternative transport when a van breaks. They would not do a replacement run for the customers they had let down in the north and would only stick to their scheduled run over a week away. You would think a delivery company delivering expensive and large goods might have the option to replace a van when it broke down and have better responses for customers buying extremely expensive items. If you are a company considering using Smartvan this will damage your reputation and customer service with your customers. Find someone else. This experience would make me reconsider buying again from the furniture company using them.

SmartVan delivered a rather large bookcase that I bought off eBay on a whim without fully considering the logistics of getting it up three flights of stairs. From my first contact with them, I found their service to be incredibly friendly and professional. After giving some basic details, Martin turned around a quote within hours and offered options on collection and delivery dates.

On delivery day, the team let me know they were on their way and turned up when I was expecting them. They were polite and took great care of the property and my delivery. They also made impressively short work of lugging a heavy, awkward item up many flights of stairs.

I couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Next time, I may take advantage of their fit checking service first though rather than just crossing my fingers and hoping my latest purchase will go up the stairs!

smart van tried to deliver my new sofa yesterday. Two delivery guys appeared, rude and unprofessional. They weren't wearing protective masks as i was advised via an email prior to them delivering. As soon as they opened the truck i could see my sofa unpacked, without any protective cover. They handled the modules without care, those were too heavy for their build, they were taking them up the stairs and dropping them down, instead of placing it down with care, when they wanted to rest. I kept asking them to be careful. They were nervous and erratic in their movements. They claimed the second module did not fit through the door. The door is narrow indeed, however they weren't willing to listen to me when i was suggesting ways to fit it in. Over the last few months much wider & deeper pieces of furniture have been through the door. They took the module back to the shop i ordered it from. The end result of this was the sofa being damaged. Not by them trying to put it through the door, but with the way they handled the sofa i guess from the time it left the warehouse. I don't know if this was a random event but my experience was very negative. Having brand new and expensive things delivered damaged due to lack of professionalism from the delivery company is frustrating. This company should vet more carefully the people their employ.

John & Leon were brilliant. Really polite, friendly and quick. Unpacked & assembled big 6-seater l-shaped sofa - and carried up steps & a patio. I’d recommend SmartVan for everything - especially expensive stuff you want treated with kid gloves. They were great with the kids & dog too. 100%
