The first left charging station and I believe the second one works. The rest are broken. To get them working it’s a pain as the instructions are contradicting. You can’t see the payment screen as it all scratched up. Overall, worst experience so far and wouldn’t recommend. I went there because I didn’t know better. On the bright side, the working station works well when it works.

This Shell Garage is an absolute nightmare. Although it is open 24 hours a day, one staff member kept me waiting quite a few minutes late at night before attempting to serve me while he stacked shelves. The sad reality was that when he did offer to serve me I asked for a bottle of alcohol and he refused to serve me claiming that the law stated that he couldn't serve alcohol after 11pm which I wasn't totally convinced about. Therefore, I drove to the Shell Godmanchester and picked up a bottle of alcohol without any issues whatsoever?
Please feel fee to respond and comment Shell, because I am feeling aggrieved and bewildered by the inconsistency of what I was told and annoyed that I had to drive a few miles away in order to make my original intended purchase ?

Plenty of time i visit there. I think more than 4 chargers available. So probably charger available every time.

Available and working. Always a good start! Considering just off the motor way not an unpleasant place to stop and snack while you wait. Outside table and chairs immediately adjacent to the charging area, away from the main road. Feel a bit mean not giving 5 star but I rarely give 5, so, convenient on one hand, but difficult ( on the day I was there, Saturday) getting back into the motorway. This would of course be true for anyone visiting the station. Have added to my reliable stops when going north to visit family

Always at least 2 not working…….has been less than 60KW when working….just plain awful for motnhs

Only stop here if absolutely necessary. Very rarely to they accept contactless and function as expected. Out of 4 chargers, I had no luck until the trying the last unit.

For a company the scope of Shell, this is a let down. Either get with the electric game or perish.

Hello shell marketers, its good to hear you are working towards improving the infrastructure, very glad to hear it. Although given you have made billions in profit over the last couple of years, forgive me if I notice that for the last, at least a year really, on the major road of the A1 in england, your chargers have ceased to work more than half the time and cost around 15% more than equivalent gridserve.

When I see positive change, I will edit my review.

I only filled up my van with filthy diesel🤣 but staff are lovely but the food is very very expensive for what you get,sorry for the bad press but I don't think it needs to be like this,I think it's because you have a captive audience who at that time of morning need fuel for cars,vans,lorries PLUS humans, could you please look at your prices.
