Following the recent death of an external hard drive containing thousands of precious files, I looked up data recovery. I even physically took my drive to the office of a recovery business that has many five-star reviews and a high Google ranking. Then they gave me the price for the recovery work. Ouch. I managed to bargain this down a little but was still facing an enormous outlay for a partial recovery.

While looking at alternatives, another generalist computer repair service kindly recommended Lazarus to me. I looked on their website, I saw the fixed prices, I rang John. Within a week I had ALL my data delivered back to me on a new drive, having received frequent updates from John and Laura at Lazarus in-between.

All of this, including carriage, a new drive and VAT cost me less than what I could have paid for a partial recovery. Everything was super smooth, transparent, professional and friendly from start to finish.

Data recovery is not cheap, so back up - but if you are ever in the desperate state I was, go straight to Lazarus Data Recovery, as I should have done. A proper five-star outfit. Thank you!

Thanks to John and the team, who recovered 15 years of family photos that were on my Seagate external hard drive that just decided to stop working one day. Disk recovery is never "cheap" but Lazarus were reasonably-priced, transparent and upfront about the costs and outcomes, and were good honest people to do business with. 100% recommended.

After a USB flash drive stopped working & I was unable to access goodness knows how many years-worth of digital copies of bank statements, payslips, bills, minutes of meetings & AGMs, programmes of events, letters, paper copies from umpteen sources - much of it now shredded, none of it important except to me - I was given the telephone number of Lazarus Data Recovery from a local computer repair shop that no longer deals with USBs.

An hour later - I talk a lot - I agreed to send my USB off to see what, if anything, could be recovered.

An email informing me the 1st stage had been unsuccessful due to the USB being so unstable & asking whether I wanted to try the next stage at an extra cost or have the USB returned for P&P only, got buried in my inbox until a follow-up email was sent.

I would have been prepared to go to the 3rd stage if necessary. There was, & is, nothing of intrinsic value on the USB but the relief of having those shredded documents back & NOT having to scan, yet again, those that still existed but had been filed would have been worth every penny. And nowhere near as expensive as I'd initially thought it might be.

I didn't have to, though. Level 2 was successful & a now encrypted replacement USB is back with me ready for me to continue my decluttering mission.

So to John, Laura & all the unnamed people in the lab & office who may have has anything to do with recovering my data & getting it back to me - Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Outstanding. I cannot praise this company highly enough. Laptop died while abroad on holiday, and I didn't have a recent enough back up for some files that were very precious to me. Cue huge stress - but Lazarus have managed to recover everything - which is no mean feat as the actual SSD was damaged. John was so helpful throughout the entire process, going above and beyond to make sure I was kept up to date with progress and knew what the issues were that they were trying to fix - and also took the time to discuss my questions re: ethical sourcing and how we might best go about the repair in regards to that, which I was so impressed with as it's something that's so important to me as a consumer. Pricing was very clear up front (different tiers depending on complexity of repair, with a set price for each tier). Data was sent back on a password encrypted hard drive and the whole process felt very secure.

In short, I cannot recommend John and the team highly enough - thank you so much for retrieving what I thought might be gone forever!
