Langstone Habour Master patrol and regulate Portsmouth and Hayling slipways. While Hayling slipway is kept in excellent order, unfortunately Portsmouth slipway is unusable 9 months of the year. Even 4 wheel drives get stuck there - its very dangerous - the shingle banks being between 3 and 6 foot height to access the water.

Fees for using this slipway are £14 a day, or between £50 and £160 a year, while this has been an ongoing problem for at least 7 years. Would NEVER recommend paying the fees for such dismal service, they and the council have a duty of care to maintain and keep this public slipway in working order... They Fail!

Always had really great service and support from Langstone Harbour Board. The admin team is prompt in their responses.

A particular thank you to Jeremy and Paul who were invaluable help getting onto a mooring. They even took the time to teach my inexperienced crew some top tips for securing to a buoy!

Thank you for making Langstone Harbour a safe, welcoming place to be.

Absolute shambles of a harbour authority, avoid the harbour all you can I’ve grown up in Langstone and have used the harbour all my life and have a lot of memories out there and this year they have told me I am not allowed to have my mooring because I never paid for last year due to my boat having a re-fit and it wasn’t going in the water. all because I didn’t pay £144 for absolutely nothing they won’t let me have my mooring they have said I have given up my license which is not the case. Absolute joke I can assure you Langstone harbour board will not have a penny from me or our family as long as we walk this earth.

After visiting several times over the past week found this place to be very dangerous jet ski's racing up and down very close to edge watched yellow jet ski Monday so close to edge racing along and nearly hit a kid in the water. Harbour master comes out tells them off and second he goes in there at it again plus they where all sat up by cafe wall smoking weed. You need to get control of these idiots or ban them altogether

Had my first Experience of Langstone Harbour and the Ferry Road Slipway today. Having never launched there before i was really pleased to see Helpful staff and other boaters on hand, who were more than willing to help or provide some sound words of advice.
we had a few issues with the Boat, one of which was a total mess up with the gravel anchor leading to the boat almost slamming into the Ferry dock. thankfully the Ferry master was on hand and i cant say enough thanks for what he did to get the boat tied up and safe.
The Harbour Master staff were great, Radio check went smoothly. it was very calming to have people around that know so much about the sea and the area. Had great fun chugging around in the V8 fishing boat learning the ropes in the Inlet. Yes we had issues with the Boat. Friday the 13th was not a good day to test things.. but its only its 2nd try out on the water. one new Starter motor and i will be back down at the harbour for another try out.
