I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at Hardwick Post Office . I arrived at the post office at 12:03 PM to drop off a parcel for DPD, only to be told by the staff member on duty that parcels could not be accepted between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM due to other tasks being prioritized during that time frame.

This policy was not communicated beforehand, and I find it unreasonable, especially as I was the last person in the queue. If specific timings exist for DPD parcel drop-offs, they should be clearly stated on the post office and DPD websites to avoid inconveniencing customers.

I request that this issue be addressed, either by updating the advertised timings or ensuring that staff are better equipped to handle such situations without turning away customers.

Absolutely the best customer service! Friendly, knowledgeable,swift, and personal service. Carla is an absolute asset to the Post Office and Royal Mail.
I'd like to point out that the review left by Braz Btaganza (1 star) is absolutely ridiculous....if you went to any shop for example Morrisons, you would not be let in 3 min after closing time! The Post Office hours are advertised very clearly in the shop and on the website. Totally uncalled for leaving a 1 star review.
With regards to Susan Leach saying that there is always a queue in the shop...is she reviewing the shop or Post Office? Again, would she complain if there was a queue in say Morrisons? Anyone that says Carla is rude (James) obviously is a very unhappy, if not a rude person themselves. I happpen to have been a Post Mistress, and from experience, people can be very rude and impatient! Are they like this in all shops that they go to? Carla explains all options to customers should it be called for, eg posting parcels. Surely, this speaks volumes as to what kind of person she is? I have yet to come across a better Post Mistress to Carla. She deserves respect and gratitude for her her service!

It's wheelchair friendly and has an associated local convenience store whose staff are equally helpful.

Carla the postmistress is an Eastern European. Yet her English is really quite good. By 'quite good' I mean more than functional literacy because she is beyond that. Anybody who cannot empathise with her ought to imagine running a post office on their own, with no colleagues to consult about anything, in somewhere like Budapest. In fact she is a very bright and funny lady who would not be deliberately rude to anybody. That contrasts sharply with one of her colleagues in the Nisa shop to which the Post Office is attached.
