Chain ferry linking Plymouth to Torpoint and Cornwall.

We pulled up and it wasn’t busy, straight on to a ferry and crossed the river.

A very convenient service which runs frequently and saves 40 minutes and 20 miles versus a return bridge crossing at the same price (Β£1.50 return for a car). Staff were pleasant enough.

Was a great service until the new ferries were bought in. They have now become extremely unreliable. There is always a problem with one of them. Not good for locals who rely on this service to run on time so they can get to work etc. Lacks visusl communication. It's ok putting stuff on social media but when you are driving you cant see what is happening. Would be helpful if the sign leading to the ferry said what was happening eg: ferries running a shuttle service etc rather than reduced service possible delays. That does not help anyone

It's a ferry and is useful if you want to get from Cornwall to England or from England to Cornwall. The alternative is a long drive.
