I've stayed fairly near to Culbin Forest for a huge chunk of my life. But today was the first time that I've actually visited the place.

A well looked after car park. Bins and clean toilet facilities are all covered in the parking fees, which ranged from 1 hour all the way to ten hours. Overnight parking is not allowed. You can pay by cash or card/app.

Paths and roads are well maintained. The walks are mainly flat.

A walk down to The Gut estuary was worth the time. There's still so many routes to explore on foot or mountain bike that I'll be back and forth for a good while yet.

Before we even went for a walk - toilets are closed November - March. Having just paid the full day parking and half a family needing a nr2!!! Mood ruined as we arrived expecting the functioning toilets before a nice walk...At the least there should be a reduced parking charge in low season and a eye catching notice about facilities next to pay machine.

A fairly well kept car park, with access to toilets if needed. Parking is Pay and Display - cash only, so remember to take change with you!

We walked from here out to The Gut and then on to Duck Island as it was low tide, it was a gorgeous walk and we saw lots of wildlife - no ducks though! 🤣

This is so much more than a Car Park. I tried to add this as a forest walk, which is essentially what it is but Google didn't seem keen on the idea. The place is gorgeous. Fantastic gravel path walks. Beautiful forest scenery. Massive ant hills. The Hill 99 wooden observation tower (do this for the views or regret it) is fantastic and gives you a 360 degree panorama that you will not forget in a hurry. Good toilet block at the car park and maps and information. Superb place to bring the kids and let them run wild. The dog walkers I saw religiously cleaned up after their enslaved animals, so I didn't have to shout, "BASTARDS!" at them. Highly recommended for a couple of hours of outdoor, child friendly, wheelchair/pram friendly activity.

Quite a nice walk with the kids. Took a picnic and stopped for lunch. We completed the "black" route which took us 3 hours for lots of reasons. (Lots of dragging heels)

Car park was £1.50 for 3 hours I believe. The route seemed quite well maintained. Hardly any rubbish or dog foul although there's always someone that ruins it for everyone else hence the "hardly"'.

The only thing I can't stress enough is, be careful driving here. It's back roads and people seem to treat them like they are a dual carriageway. That's not specific to this area, it's just back roads.
