I’ve ordered from Clearance XL multiple times and have always had a great experience. Their prices are fantastic, the product quality is excellent, and while standard delivery can sometimes take a little longer, that just shows how popular they are! If I need something urgently, I simply opt for next-day delivery, and it arrives on time. I saw a negative review claiming the company was mocking a customer, but in reality, it was a light-hearted joke—not a personal attack. Businesses deal with all sorts of customer interactions, including difficult and even unreasonable complaints. Clearance XL simply responded in their usual informal and humorous way, which is part of their personality as a business. The reviewer calling them out for this but not standing up for the company when they receive actual threatening or unreasonable messages seems like a case of selective outrage. Respect works both ways—customers should be treated fairly, but businesses also deserve to be defended against unfair treatment. From my own experience, Clearance XL has always been professional, reliable, and provided great value for money. If you want quality products at fantastic prices from a company that doesn’t just copy and paste robotic responses, they’re absolutely worth ordering from!

Do not buy from this company, a lady messaged them asking about where her parcel was, granted her messages were a little odd but they decided to mock her and post it on Facebook not hiding her picture. When I called them out on breaching her confidentiality they were so incredibly rude. I think the rudest response I have ever had from a business. Quite shocking you handle yourself in this manner. Don't bother buying as you'll be spoken to like trash, proof included. AVOID AVOID AVOID

This has now passed the delivery date and heard nothing from clearancexl, not even a confirmation email but my money has gone so have reported it to the bank and will be fighting to get my money back. I would still rather the parcel than anything else but seeing as I doubt this is a real company I probably won’t be getting that. Even if the customer service at a company was dire it would still be better than what they offer. No contact once over 4 different channels. Phone, live chat on their website, contact form on their website and facebook and no word. It’s just not good enough

I wish I could recommend this company because they offer good value and ensure that less good food is put into landfill.

My order was received damaged as can be seen in the photos and though while the monetary cost for these items was not big, the lack of response to my email, sent 1 Mar 2019 and lack of corrective action has destroyed any faith I would have in this company, which I feel is all a mail order company has.

It seems, not only from my experience but backed up by many other reviews, that the customer service from this company is lacklustre at best, and more likely incompetent.

Thus my advice, if you don't mind risking your money and understand the goods you receive may arrive damaged, then ok you can take the gamble and you may save some money. If things go wrong, however, if things go wrong, you can't rely on this company to respond, let alone put things right.
If your tight on money and you need to be sure that what you get is what you paid for, I would shop somewhere else, and I will in future.

If Paul, or any of his staff read this, may I emphasis that price is not the only concern of your customers but that customer service is a priority as well and you should look to improving this aspect of your company.

Dear Paul,

I find your casual and somewhat rude response to a customers complaint indicative of the level of service that your customers can expect to receive from your company, let's address a few things you have said here:

My order was not delivered undamaged as the photos show, any assertion of the delivery company is clearly untrue, however if you are stating that the box it was sent in was 'undamaged' then this maybe true, I didn't inspect the box as I wasn't concerned about its condition as it was the stuff inside that I had ordered!

As for trying to belittle my negative experience with yourselves because of the cost of goods that arrived damaged, let me say this, if I am an example of how you treat a customer when there is only 75p involved, I would hate to think of how you treat customers who have lost much more in dealing with you, guess I had a lucky escape that I didn't loose more. It's not the money that was of concern to me, but the lack of service on your part!

Thirdly I think it highly convenient that you are to busy to respond to my email, but as soon as I leave a negative review your schedule clears up with time not only to respond to my original email, but to also respond to me here as well.

Further more as for you awaiting my email response, not only did you remove my account, but also you added my email address to your spam filter so of course I cannot respond to you, but even if I were able you clearly do not care about your customers as others here who have had a bad experience with your company have noted, so I doubt highly a resolution would be forthcoming.

As for countering positive reviews, that's not my place? People will leave their reviews based upon their own individual experience. If people are happy with your service, then good for them I'm glad they haven't had my experience, but this whole post has been about how you deal with customers who are not happy with your service and in this you fail miserably and blame your customers rather than try to improve things.

At the end of the day future customers have to decide on balance if they want to deal with your company based upon what they have read from previous customers. The way you respond to customers who have had a poor experience should be a warning to all.

I have had many excellent, good value deliveries in the past but am feeling very let down by customer service now. I placed an order on 12th July. Money came out on the 17th July. After emailing , calling but no reply and filling in the customer review form, I got a reply from DHL saying the order was damaged in transit and returned to Clearance XL. I can't get hold of anybody to sort this out.
Added over a year later - never heard from them, and they took my money - I never received the goods.

I used to order from them a while back and their service was great. Not sure what has happened but it looks like they now run a scam company. My delivery has not arrived and there is no one on customer service.

Legit, just under £100 of food and drink for £30. Very well packaged and quick delivery via DPD. I'll go back here for sure. Dispatch took 4 days but was next day delivery including a weekend, this was for the Standard Zone A XL delivery (up to 65KG) which was £5.95 for shipping. Had a few queries about dispatch times and I received replies within 5 minutes each time.
