I Purchased a 4 Bedroom Semi-Detached New Build from Cavanna Homes at 504K in Plymouth last year and would urge anyone thinking about buying from this company to consider other options and steer clear from this shocking crowd. Our new home should not have had the amount of noticeable defects and quality issues the minute we moved in. The build quality is poor and once they have your money, they couldn’t care less.

The 5 Stars awarded from NHBC they keep citing is not worth the paper it is written on! Cavanna will use this as a platform to hide behind when things ‘go wrong’ with your property. Customer services have completely ignored honouring their two year home builders warranty and are refusing to repair their defects inside and out of the property. The Customer Services and After Sales care from Cavanna Homes is just frankly appalling. One year on and I'm thinking about living in alternative accommodation due to the appalling build quality and sub-standard materials used. 50 + issues including, broken building regulations and health and safety issues. I implore anyone who is thinking about buying a Cavanna Home to request a surveyor to check the house before completion.

I would honestly say avoid the hassle unless you are prepared to fight for everything. I have done much of this on my own and I am exhausted. I have a career I work hard at, I have other commitments outside of work and this whole experience has made my life much more stressful than it should have been.

My experience relates to Origins in Dartington. I am still experiencing "snags" after nearly 3 years ownership. How they get five star ratings baffles me. Drainage has always been a problem and some of the stonework is already coming adrift. These 5 Star cowboys can't even draw a straight line! See photo of the base of my garage door.

Recently purchased a 12 year old Cavanna property. Now I know a lot can happen in 12 years, but some of the original build quality is simply awful for a 'new'ish' house.
The previous owner had tried to get in contact with Cavanna over 5 years ago to discuss an issue that simply isn't acceptable and got nowhere.
As a young family, they were simply unable to stump up the costs to have original work re-done.

On every drylined wall in the house, the seaming tape has failed on every corner, wall and ceiling join.
I've never seen anything like it for a property of this age!

I always said that I wanted to buy a home from Cavanna as I always believed they are the best. I was by far wrong. I completed on the house on the 2nd of December, still waiting for an update in regards to when my kickboard is to be refitted in my kitchen and no update in regards to when I will have grass in the back garden!! I've tried calling Charlie the site manager a number of times with no call back, I've tried reporting still nothing and emailed still nothing. They were steam ahead for completion before their end of finance year. Would stay away from cavanna if you want a job completing properly.

We bought a house at Lyme View, Holcombe at the end of November 2020 and couldn't be happier with it. The build quality and finish are excellent and exceeded our expectations. The process from reservation to legal completion was handled very professionally by Cavanna, despite hiccups and delays on our side. Since moving in, Cavanna has dealt with the few snagging issues very efficiently.

We are particularly grateful to Kevyn Dixon, the site Sales Advisor, for all his help throughout the buying process and for his ongoing help. He is a real asset to Cavanna.

Unfortunately after 8 years on from buying a new home they have failed under their obligation to make the house watertight despite the NHBC insisting on action.

8 years is not acceptable as each year they return to carry out poor repairs that does not sort out the water coming into my house.
Operations director is not very responsive or respectful and as for the MD I am genuinely not sure if he exists. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Stay well away.

So happy with our new home. Buying throughout a pandemic wasn’t as stressful thanks to the friendly and helpful service. So glad we chose to buy with Cavanna, top quality throughout. I would highly recommend!

Cavanna Homes Ltd have provided us with a very poor aftersales service during their much advertised two year warranty with our new build. We have a large amount of snags, most of which they have denied responsibility for and the snags they have rectified they have done so reluctantly. They will do whatever they can to not take money out of their budgets to fix your house as promised.

The sales team on site are extremely friendly, informative and all too happy to take your money. The after sales and customer service team are very unhelpful. Because we were insistent that our snags be rectified, rightfully under their warranty and we pursued this regularly, staff claimed to feel intimidated by us and refused to give out appropriate contact details. You never knew who to ring, who to Email or who to speak to. This of course, is a massive over exaggeration to the fact that most people will probably give up at this point. The aftersales/customer service team are not used to customers actually asking them to do their jobs and heaven forbid, a little bit of work.

I may add that all language in our written enquiries was appropriate and on topic. Just another tactic they use to stall for time and frankly an insult to me. They will do anything they can to maintain their “good reputation” except for the one thing that they should be doing, which is providing good aftersales care. They have even gone as far to attempt to take away our freedom of speech by asking us to remove these reviews.

In short, they will send you on a wild goose chase with their contractors, who often argue with each other leaving you stuck in the middle for days/weeks while your house sits there with unfinished works. Between them, the contractors and NHBC, the process is so lengthy by the time you are even close to solving your problems your two years warranty will be up. AVOID!
