The young lady behind the counter was very helpful. I posted things domestically and didn’t know how it works ( I’m a visitor) She explained the differences between mail services ( 1st class 2nd class , etc) very clearly and helped with packaging.

Ive been here to post packages around 5 times now, Only once was the post Office counter at the back open, where i was given exceptional service.

However every other time the lady attending the McColls counter is so rude, doesnt have basic manners or any form of customer service. One time i asked to post a letter and she refused simply because she couldnt be bothered, its clear to see she hates the post office side of her job.

And today i went in and asked if i could post an item in which she responded that the printer was broken which was a blatant lie.

Immense training and monitoring should be implemented to make sure the service is improved. How that women still has a job looking at other reviews i will never know.

I usually go to this post office and most of the times I'm being served by a lovely gentleman. Sometimes I'm being served by an extremely slow, lazy and not interested woman in her 30s. But today (literally an hour ago) her behaviour was absolutely unacceptable! I sent my mom who is visiting me and doesn't speak English to send some post cards. That woman was extremely rude to my mom, making faces at her for not speaking English, she charged her more than I get charged for the same destination of the post cards and on top of that she didn't give her a receipt!!!! My mom came home really upset and she even thinks that nasty lazy woman will throw her post cards in the bin. As I said I've had unpleasant experience with that lazy creature before but after today I'm definitely never going to this post office again! You'd better fire that rude woman or you will lose more customers because of her!

Make up the opening hours as they go along, no single listing is correct, it takes multiple visits to finally catch them open, do not rely on them to function competently as a post office.

Update:
Yesterday was told 9am-2:30, arrived at 9 to be told actually it was 9:30 to 2:30 today. Called after 9:30 to ensure these times were correct and have been told they've changed their minds and close at 2 today. Both staff spoken to very rude, they really just don't care. An embarrassment to the post office.

one of the staff rolled eyes at me and was quite rude, I asked for 2nd class but she did 1st Class.
just read other reviews and it seems this woman is rude to everyone, why she still works there

The staff in the front is even worse, often post office is closed for no reason, the worst post office I've been so far, been going to it for a few months now and today was my last day, from now on will be going to the one in the Bon Accord, it's further away, but at least staff is really nice there!

The rudest customer service. Appalling behavior towards customers.
The blonde lady at the front desk is always moody and unhelpful. It's disgrace to keep shops operating in this attitude.
I wonder if there is any management in place.
It's better to walk in town and get served by nice people in Saint Nicola's post office.

Yesterday I went into the post office 17 Castlegate. Last time I went the young lad was lovely and helpful. But this time the lady there was so rude to me I felt abused. I was polite as I could be anfter being spoken to rudely and she was foul, she shouted at ‘shut your mouth’ over and over again and hurry up. It was so bad I it made me feel unwell and my glands swelled and I felt ill. I have a condition where stress makes me ill. I came out after finally sorting out my posting things. I was shaking. I called my friend and burst into tears. I was so shocked and upset. I went to my hairdressers and he gave me a hug.
That woman is an utter disgrace!
She is a complete liability and I’m surprised she hasn’t caused further trouble. I’m thinking of taking this further.

Absolutely appalling behavior from staff this morning.
I was in before 9am to post a letter and when it was my turn in the line for the improv post office, the woman said she had to serve the customers that had just walked in while I waited, first. So I waited while they payed for their crisps. Then a man walked in, garbed a newspaper and payed for that, and when the third customer walked in and was being served I inquired why I was not being attended as a customer, like the rest of people.
Well, the response from the disgraceful woman was so rude, disrespectful and out of hand, I'm considering coming back to speak to her manager about it.

Definitely wouldn't recommend you come even within 50 yards of this place.
