We pitched up on pitch 61, which is a really nice location. The grass is trimmed and a nearly flat pitch. The bus is on time, although it does not run too often, but we are managing very well to get around to Swange, Wareham etc.
The staff are very happy and helpful, the toilet/shower blocks are very clean. The washing up facility has piping hot water, and the laundry costs £5, a token from the reception. There is a play area for young children and a paddling pool, which does get busy on hot days. Many with us old codgers dipping our feet in 😊
Friday night is pizza night, and a travelling pizza oven arrives on site, and on Saturday, an Indian takeaway is available. We have yet to try them, but the prices are reasonable.

Great campsite with very clean and tidy toilets and showers. Utilities are also great. Zero light pollution too. Ideal for night time snaps. The site backs straight onto Wareham forest which is also ideal for walking around. Friendly staff too. I'd stay here again .

Having previously visited a neighboring site we thought we would try Birchwood and we're not disappointed. Much, much quieter than the big sie next door. It is further back from the road and has pathes straight onto the Sika trail well run, clean and tidy.

Booked a 5 night trip over the August bank holiday weekend and despite the appalling weather, we all had a great time. Staff are brilliant and offered to fork the ground in our awning to help drain the water quicker when we had particularly bad downpour.
Although the campsite was busy, it was still peaceful. Nice size pitches and the shower facilities were very clean, and hot. Good facilities for kids, splash pool was a hit when we were blessed with a bit of sun. Highlight for us was the bus service that came to the campsite and took us into Swanage for the day.
Easy access to Wareham Forest. We would happily return to this campsite.

This is a lovely location for families or couples with plenty of walks and bike routes on the adjacent Dorset heathland. Also tons of attractions and beautiful beaches a short drive away. |The bus comes into the campsite during summer which is very convenient. |There is a large playing field and well equipped children’s play area. |Pitches range from fully serviced with hardstanding to a simple grass pitch. |We find the staff very friendly and helpful. The shop is well stocked and in summer there is often some sort of takeaway meals trailer at weekends. |We love it and have stayed here many times over the years as a couple and also with grandchildren and the rest of the family.

Booked a pitch to stay over the Christmas and New Year period in our caravan. We actually came home 3 days early as I fell poorly and so did both our dogs. Good and bad for us unfortunately on this one. The good - large clean site, plenty of bins, Ian (staff) friendly and helpful, good for dogwalking, quite location, toilets/shower areas clean and warm, open all year, good base for visiting places like Corfe Castle, Poole etc., easy to get to the site, EV chargers, hard standing, hairdryer in the shower block. The bad .... no privacy, you are very much on top of each other (this would be horrendous in the summer when it's full), no privacy in the shower area, you had to come out of the cubicle to get dressed and no one wants to see a 60 year old bum, the water over the sinks was extremely hot and if that didn't scold you, wait until you put your hands under the air drier! The TV signal is bad so take a long aerial, the wifi/internet/signal is so bad you cannot get anything while you are there, even with their log-in, dark site so take a torch, even to the toilet blocks. Although not connected with the site but is the nearest place to eat is the Silent Woman Inn, expensive and poor. This one is not for us, sorry.
