I have recently started studying here , I moved to Ayr in march and had wanted to return to study for many years, but life always seemed to get in the way, and I was not a confident learner due to my disabilities.
Eventually, I talked myself into it and started the applications for a placement and then funding. As a part of the process, they ask about learning challenges I was nervous about disclosing this information initially but now I am really pleased that I did. Educational support has been marvellous in getting me the appropriate support for my challenges , helped me with funding paperwork, recommended learning aids etc.
The tutors are really great at giving you constructive feedback and are exceptionally approachable .The course content is ace, and the campus is really nicely laid out with some quieter areas, too.if you're feeling overwhelmed .
Their approach to support has been second to none . I can honestly say joining the college has been the best thing I've ever done ! I am feeling the most confident I ever have because I have the right support in place, and I know if I have an issue, they have the solution in place already.

Terrible place to study, there's absolutely no standards... The drama department (where I studied) was absolutely atrocious. The lecturers i had at the time were like chalk & cheese when it came to teaching styles and it caused so many issues amongst the class, quality of work, production expectations, time we actually spent in the rehearsal room etc.... we were all treated like primary school children and didn't feel particularly respected as adults doing a college course at HNC / HND level. The production value and plays that we were expected to put on to pass modules were high school level at best with absolutely little to zero support or direction from lectures. It was an absolute mess, and I'd never recommend this college to anyone wanting to study acting.

After a year of studying at Ayr College, students felt an overwhelming feeling that our course was not made a priority.
Lecturers were good and supportive however resources were so restricted by the colleges lack of effort.
Students of 2022 - 2023 are still left in the dark regarding when they will receive their qualifications due to “action short of strike” which commencing in May.
No communication by the college regarding this matter, other than generic responses to complaints made with an apparent ‘not our fault’ attitude.
I wouldn’t recommend Ayr college, as a service provider they have let the students down.

This was my first visit to the Westerly Restaurant at Ayr College and it will definitely not be the last. I had a first class lunch today with friends. Everything was amazing. The students and staff were so welcoming. The menu a Nd food delicious and the service excellent. Cannot praise this experience enough. Well done Ayr College, you should be very proud.

Ate in the Westerly catering training section of the college. Superb food. Students are training for waitering posts as well, under supervision. As a result the table service is not yet polished but you can't expect silver service at this stage.

Went to Ayr College many years ago for my HNC Office Admin. Before this, my SNC.

Can honestly say the training was outstanding, with fantastic tutors who were so motivated.

A very demanding course, but provided the ability to obtain excellent written and computing skills.

Lovely park nearby too. So peaceful.

Wish I could do it again x

Modern college in the middle of town. I was impressed by some of the advanced AR/VR tools they house. Parking was good. Accessability is also good. There is a large and comfy hall where they serve food and drinks.
