I have always found the ladies at the counter very helpful. The same can’t be said for the staff on the other desk. Today I attended and was spoken to disgustingly by member of staff Duncan who actually sighed when I asked to collect a package. Spoke to me like I was a piece of dirt. This is the 3rd time this member of staff has spoken to me like this and a formal complaint has now gone in. I would suggest if you don’t enjoy working with the public then look for another line of work but speaking to someone in such an abrasive and rude tone is unacceptable. Sadly this member of staff makes shopping here a negative experience and due to the repeated behaviour I can only assume it’s not just a bad day !! When I asked for his name he actually shouted at me ‘ what was my problem. I only have the hump because he asked for ID’ no Duncan I don’t I would have had no issue providing ID if you had asked in a polite way without the 3 sighs and eye rolling !! I would never treat people the way you treated me today even on my worst days. Shame on you and your manger will be hearing about this.

Absolutely awful experience.
I simply asked for help filling out a DVLA form – one that they provide – but was told they couldn't assist and that I needed to go to the main site. When I asked if I could pay by postal order (since the form doesn’t accept cash), I was told they only take cash… and then, to top it off, they closed the till right in front of me.

The service attendant was incredibly rude and unhelpful.

I really don’t like to leave negative reviews, but sadly there is so much that could be improved here.

Very small and poorly laid out Post office which is usually very busy as there are no other post offices in the area.

There are only two counters but 9/10 times when I go there is only one counter in use. Service is VERY, very slow and unfortunately the staff seem very miserable, barely engaging and not terribly helpful. The queues are very long, often to the door - especially at this time of year and to be honest I try and avoid and use other post offices when i can

It's no wonder Post Offices are being closed. This one is dirty and smelly and the staff are some of the rudest people I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. They clearly are not happy in their job. They barely speak, if a postman comes in they stop what they are doing, even if they are halfway through a transaction, with no apology or explanation and god help you if you are in the queue when their lunch rolls round, cardboard signs go up and they just shut shop. The newsagent counter staff are equally unpleasant. Online is the way to go.

What is the actual point of having a second post office window if it’s never staffed, and why have another postal point at the newsagent till if the McColl’s staff just stand there with nothing to do and don’t bother opening it? I was queued past the door today and saw no-one attempt to open another till, despite two women being stood idle behind the counter. When I asked the lady behind the counter why she didn’t open the second till, she rudely replied that she was too busy. Weirdly, the same woman when asked the same question a few months ago, was also too busy with her “paperwork” to man the second till then too. Lazy, unhelpful, rude staff - awful place.

Staff (the fringed woman with the ponytail) will do deliveries mid-serve to clock off on time, while leaving a long queue of members of the public waiting to be seen. No: “Sorry for keeping you waiting”, or “I’ll be with you in a moment”. Their singular time is worth more than the majority they are serving.

I use this Post Office Counter every week. A regular member of staff is the rudest, most unhelpful public- facing employee I've ever encountered. She will not engage in a greeting, a please or thank you. I've also heard her muttering under her breath about having to process work at the counter. I'm really unsure whether she ought to be working there. There's another lady who occasionally runs the counter who manages to be chatty and efficient. I'd like to add that the actual McColls regular shop staff, especially Lisa, and Vanessa, are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble.

0 stars if it was possible, I wanted to return a package, waited 30 minutes in the queue for the lady at the till to be mundane and very unhelpful. She jumped to the conclusion that she can’t do the return without even asking me what I needed to show her on my phone. I’m not a professional but I think if you work in a post office you should know how to do a return or at least be sincere about it if you can’t help me, a tiny bit of empathy would be nice when you’ve just walked miles and waited ages to return a singular parcel. I never write reviews but this customer service is appalling.
