Amazon new training requires drivers to place a chock to secure wheel . Yard was quiet when I arrived . Not alot of manuvre space between bays and Parking spaces.

Elderly yard marshal is very arrogant and rude, he thinks he knows how to drive better than the drivers. You have to put a wheel chock under your unit even when disconnecting, nobody tells you this beforehand and you then get screamed at because apparently the lorry is going to roll uphill with parking brake on πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ If you need to wait it’s a very dirty waiting area and you are literally caged in, no access back to yard for any reason.

If you have to leave an Amazon trailer in the yard and you need to go to the toilet, the security and gate house won't let you. Being HGV Driver You are like nobody.

For a 24/7 company opening for loading and unloading at 7:15 is very poor drivers waiting to go home a couple of hours. Question of trucks waiting to get in all way down road blocking one side

Safety issues in the yard. When docking a trailer you are forced to keep stepping over the big rails that define the area of each bay. Awkward to move around without hurting
yourself. Caught my ankle on the combi lock of the next bay when opening near side door on trailer. I mentioned this to the marshall, as I have at other sites, I but.... Of course they are not interested. Typical of such a giant of a company. No regard for delivering drivers.. Forced to wait in a room with others when we should be able to wait in the comfort of our trucks. They have our keys, we can truck is locked on the bay. Couldn't get us back in the cab quick enough during covid. Had to wear a mask just to exit the cab to open doors. The situation needs looking at in a big way.

Same as All the Amazon depots too many yard marshals not enough people unloading, very slow turnaround. I think every depot has 30 to 40 yard marshals πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ at least it keeps the employment figures down. πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

Weird place with strange rules. If they could, probably they build cages for drivers...so they did not go to the cab. I tried to get my vape from the truck, so they stopped unloading. Do not forget anything if you decide to go to goods in office.
