Absolutely appalling phone answering service to order medication or needles. My only previous order I requested medication & needles. The medication arrived but no needles. The person who took my call on that occasion seemed not to be able to understand what I was asking for.
Today I waited for approximately 90 minutes for a call back to make an order for needles, and the girl who eventually answered had to put me through to a supervisor trained in my particular medication needs. I wonder how much this outsourcing is costing the NHS?

This company is completely useless . For the last year my relative has had nothing but stress and hassle getting his medication delivered EVERY TIME!!! He is having to chase it right up to the last dose every single time and we have to have time off work when there’s a delivery . After many complaints nothing changes whatsoever . They don’t deserve the NHS contract as clearly are not capable of fulfilling their obligations. No patient should continually have to chase their treatment every single time and all the stress and I convenience this causes to the whole family .

I have been very impressed with Alcura, when ordering medication the staff have always been efficient friendly and very helpful, they go out of there way to sort any problems , they ring back when they say they will to keep us informed on how the request for medication is going We have had to have a couple of emergency deliveries of injections, and considering we live in Cornwall it's been a 6 or 7 hour round trip to deliver supplies. They have not once let us down, with my husband's illness sometimes things happen quickly. It's good to have your help and understanding takes a lot of stress and worry from me Thankyou Alcura your staff are excellant. Regards Lesley and Kevin

Staff are polite and friendly but they've had a giant error with their system over Christmas - this meant I've missed out on one dose of a trial medication, making the whole trial redundant. All I get our phone calls now 5 months after forgetting me to ask if they can deliver my last dose.

Absolutely shocking. Shouldnt have NHS contracts without proper medical professionals that understand the affect of missing medication

Honestly the worst company to rely on for your medication, better to get it from somewhere else than this place, I don't even know why hospitals work with them. Prescriptions are always "late", workers are non existent No one picks up the damn calls and I'm almost always late to take my injections and have to deal with the consequences TERRIBLY. Once in a blue moon when someone does pick up, they are often apologetic and sort stuff out but what is the point if I can't get in touch with them Appaling and disappointing, hope this service shuts down, genuinely. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Poorest customer service I’ve ever come across. Rarely answer phone or emails and when they do answer, many of the staff have no clue about the services they provide, don’t listen to the questions or are simply rude. I have no confidence that they can deliver vital medication to the correct address and they blame their contractors if anything goes wrong. If you can avoid this company, do! I’m going back to my NHS contact to find other options for my medication delivery.
Update is that the latest interaction is that they can’t deliver my medication because they don’t have a box…this company are an absolute joke!
Also noticed that they reply to the (very few) positive reviews but nothing on the many negative reviews. This company have no interest in their clients.
Update…NHS suggested other companies might be just as bad. Now yet another delivery not made by Alcura, customer service have no record of the date it was supposed to be made and yet again, drugs not delivered when needed. On hold for ages again trying to speak to someone!

Used to be a half decent service but over the last year they've got worse. They don't phone about meds and they don't answer calls for hours. Deliveries don't turn up on the day allocated. Then chilled meds are kept by the courier and turn up 48 hours later.

Never had a problem getting medication delivered but then again I always call 2/3 weeks before my meds are due.
