Awful awful awful delivery service if you can help it do not use parcel force to deliver your package and the reading mail centre is particularly bad.

The driver will drive around the area so he can pin the GPS to not get in trouble and mark the package as attempted delivery without trying to deliver it.

This has happened twice and they refuse to acknowledge the driver is just putting attempted delivery and not bothering to even come to the house this happened twice in a row before Christmas delaying an important Christmas gift.

In the end if you’re lucky they deliver it to a post office where you have to pay a pound to collect a parcel they didn’t even try and deliver. It’s absolutely disgusting.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER November 2024

Update, I can't even register a complaint on there on line form, as it won't allow you to submit 13th November 2024

I booked a parcel for delivery using registered post / signed for on Saturday 2nd November, due for delivery on Tuesday 5th November, they claim they tried to deliver on Sunday 3rd November 2024 @ 18:30 however no red calling card left,
and they managed to bypass the recording CCTV system. I contacted them on Tue 5th to be told it was delivered to the wrong sorting office i.e. the main Reading office at Gillette Way, when it should have been delivered to the East Reading office (closed on Sundays for deliveries )
don’t worry the call centre said we will rebook it for delivery on Thursday and I will raise a complaint for you, took all my contact details, ok I said, Thursday no delivery, Friday 8th I contacted the call centre again, sorry Sir no redelivery arranged still in the sorting office, requested for complaint to be escalated, I received a call back from the complaints department, I asked can we collect, No ! against company policy if you don’t have the red calling card (I would have if you tried to deliver in the first place) I asked can you contact the sorting office at Gillette Way Reading, reply there is no point in me calling them they won’t answer the phone, I asked can you email them and rebook the delivery for ASAP, preference for delivery today as it’s a birthday present, response yes Sir I will do that know, I phoned back serval hours later for an update, the call centre advised an email was sent however no rebooking was requested, I requested to speak to a Manager, told not possible and to register a complaint with the Royal Mail board (takes about 30 days) and then told if its not arrived by Tuesday 12th November fill out a claim form, then thank you Sir anything else I can help you with today, they should be ashamed at such shocking customer service, Royal Mail Reading please feel free to comment.

Terrible Service at Reading Royal Mail Delivery Office

I paid for next-day delivery, but the service has been nothing short of a disaster. On Tuesday, they claimed my house was inaccessible — which is a blatant lie, as no access issues exist. On Wednesday, no delivery was attempted. On Thursday, they claimed they attempted delivery but never knocked or rang the bell. Finally, I went to the delivery office on Friday, where a rude bald man at reception refused to hand over the parcel, even though it was sitting right there, saying they would deliver it on Saturday.

It is now Saturday night, and despite their assurances, I still haven’t received my parcel. The app continues to lie, stating it’s “out for delivery.” I’m fed up with the endless excuses and dishonesty. Royal Mail’s service at this office is absolutely appalling, and the staff seem to have no respect for their customers. Avoid this office if you can!

Never had a good experience here. Over the last 2 weeks all my kids birthday cards from various relatives were stolen. Couldn't pick up a parcel because the desk is only open 4pm-6pm and the delivery driver may not get back until 7pm. They have posters up everywhere about not giving the staff grief but in all fairness its hard not to considering how useless the postal service seems to be.

Reduced working hours has created a long queue and slow service. Used to be good. Now finding parking is tough as well as amount of people coming to use the service in very limited reduced hours.

RM management is clueless.
