Visited here for a history project I’m doing on the cold-store industry and certain ‘historic’ compressors and engine rooms. Spoke to multiple staff members inside and on the telephone, received mix messages and weak excuses / communication. Quite frankly rude staff all around, although credit where credit is due the engineering department are amicable, management on the other hand are an absolute nightmare to deal with.

My father worked here from 1974 through to 2001. He served as an engineer and was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of plant machinery. I was lucky enough to visit here throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s and see the amazing work that goes into storing and distributing of fresh seafood products. Sadly with the decline in the fishing industry along the east coast the company has significantly scaled back operations over the last twenty years however it still stands, and operates from the same base location on Hessle road. Great company with a rich and interesting history, and a lot of fond memory’s for me as a kid!
