We’re forced to use a company that sucks. Teco is trash power goes out for little rain storms. And gosh forbid we have a tropical storm not even hit my area and my power goes out. Call them and they say flooding is why they can’t make it. I’m not even close to the water no flooding. Just a bad company. Seems like they won’t even work past 6 today with 50k people out of power. Says all you need to know

Milton hurricane didn’t affect our lives the way Teco did. Can you believe being without electricity for four days? The engineers who built this company didn’t have proper knowledge of Florida weather. We’re paying high property taxes for terrible service.
Next time, prepare yourself first before coming any hurricane then wearing the public.

Absolutely terrible. They can’t “verify” my identity so therefore they REQUIRE I send them images of my social security card and state issued identification card/driver license. I explained I don’t exactly feel comfortable sending that information via email or internet because my information has been hacked from medical offices and things like that before. I explained that I would rather go into a brick and mortar office to provide this information if necessary. They stated they do not offer an office available for the public to enter. So I asked— what are my other options as far as electrical services go? I was told there is no other provider available to me in my area. I did not have this issue starting services with Duke energy when I lived in pasco county. I find it absolutely insane that they can just haphazardly ask for your Social Security number and images of your social security card, especially considering if you are providing a state issued drivers license or state ID card and it has a gold star on it. It is considered real ID compliant therefore meaning you had to provide any legal documentation to prove your citizenship and your identification, including your Social Security card to the state in which you reside. Therefore that information ALONE! Should be more than ample proof of my identity. Now why when I asked was it necessary to provide this I was simple told “it’s just protocol and we require it” no explanation for the reason why this is necessary and required by Teco alone, and no other utility services that I have gotten services with? Teco is putting people who are not comfortable just tossing their personal information out there in a chokehold with requiring them to do this especially without having a brick and mortar front to simply enter and provide the information. I will not support this type of business practice. Sorry Teco you are only providing a service— Next thing you know my lawn guy will be asking for my social security number as well to mow my lawn.

TECO came out due to gas outage about a month and a half ago due to a 3rd party issue. They turned off all the gas at our apartment complex, then turned it on again. My gas bill was 171.00 for a total of 405 with electric. I called and said this is outrageous my bill has NEVER been this high, nothing has changed except for you guess coming out and doing whatever you did which coincides with the billing cycle. The fact that they raise already high prices, and then also want to blame their customers for their issues is upsetting. They are to send someone out by the end of the week to check the meter and I'm sure I will get that the meter is correct. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and FTC. Poor business practices need to be exposed especially when there is no other options available to connect your electric.

Please explain why I have lived at the same place for a year in a half and my bill use to be between 250 to 400. The last few months I have been getting a bill for 6 and 7 hundred dollars. If anything I upped my air to save and nothing is being used any differently other then using it less. Makes no sense to me. They claim there rates went up but ur telling me it went up 300 and more. Something isn't right

Seems as though they're more willing to increase our rates than actually get this solar farm completed. I was told this was in the works, but where is it, and how are you helping your customers afford the increase? I was also told back in 2022 that this increase was only temporary due to gas prices, that was a lie...
