Rutland Water Normanton is a wide lake with a different location but in the same place or area it is free car parking. You can walk around next to the lake. Different locations have cafes and boats. You can bring your kids over and dogs for walkies.

A great place for a day out with your family. There are many activities to enjoy, including cycling, walking, and fishing(flies fishing only). You can also bring your own games like tech rings or football.

There is a large shop for cycle hire and another one for fishing equipment, both of which close at 16:00.

If you love BBQs, you can bring your own supplies and have a proper BBQ party on-site, as BBQs are allowed.

Additionally, there is a café where you can enjoy hot or cold drinks.

One downside I found is that there is a lot of dog stool on the grass, so be careful where you step.

This car park is the ideal location if you're looking to spend the day around Rutland Water. It's close to Normanton Church too.
The car park is pretty large, but is a little pricey (think i paid £8 for 5 hours).
In terms of spending many hours walking around the reservoir though, the cost is worth it in my opinion.
I believe the entire circuit is about 23 miles so you'll need plenty of time if walking.

We did fund a challenge when we got Lyndon Nature Reserve however. It appears you have to purchase a permit to continue to walk near the reservoir however, or take a detour.

Many people clearly make a day of visiting here and I can see why. Great for walking, picnics, biking or just sitting and relaxing. Many part are so peaceful.

Lovely place to go and visit especially with the church by the lake. Could maybe take some food and enjoy it by the lake on a nice sunny day.

Parking is disgustingly expensive!!! It probably explains why the car parks are so quiet on a beautiful sunny weekend. £16 for the day

This is a perfect car park to stop at for Rutland water.
When I typed in the postcode in my sat nav ( LE15 8HD ) it actually took me down the road.
Keep going down the country road and look for the brown sign.
Payment is card or cash.
It's ANPR on entrance and you keep the ticket and pay at the pay station before you leave..
Toilets are nearby.
Plenty of spaces, even on a Saturday afternoon.
Charges are -
15 minutes free
1 hour is £2
3 hours is £4
Up to 5 hours is £8
Over 5 hours is £12.
An annual pass is £75.

A little steep if you're having a whole day here ...

We found it a bit hairy on exit turning right as people park along the grass, and it completely blocks visibility, so exit carefully.
