Bus number N42 has the best bus route in all of Scotland and the best drivers!

Travelled 4 times with then from and to fort williams. Blessed to meet Jason! What a guy. Never seen a bus driver bringing ice creams for all the passengers and stop at viewpoints showing us amazing views and highland cows that you can keep watching. I wish all drivers love their jobs and enjoy as he does. Please take the bus if you are in fort william, if you are lucky, you will find Jason, if not, you'll meet John. ๐Ÿคฃ

I used the bus for a trip to the Steall Falls near Fort William. The driver made extra sure that I understood that a return ticket would be cheaper than a single. When I did take the bus to return, rather than walk because it was raining too much, he consoled me with mint flavoured chocolate and pointed out sights on the way: some highland cows with lovely calves. His driving on the curving single lane road was very careful. I felt quite safe and well looked after. It's great that a company offers this service so that people can visit the Falls without having to go by car or walk 15 km from the centre of Fort William to the beginning of the trail - and back, of course. I would hope that the service is offered always in summer.

Number 42 bus 4.30 pm Thursday (today) from Fort William to Glen Nevis. Very hot day. Jason the driver came back from Morrisons with 2 boxes of ice creams and gave everyone on the bus one! We have used buses while we have been on holiday up here and we have met Jason on 3 occasions. He was always welcoming, polite and showed a sense of humour. A great asset to your company! Thank you Jason ๐Ÿค—

Just want to share our experience on the 42 bus at 4.30pm from Fort William, we have used this service 3 times this week whilst staying at Glen Nevis, and had the same driver each time. We thought Jason was friendly, and funny as well as generous as he bought us an ice cream in the hot weather. He is an asset to the company, and the best bus driver we have had this week. Some need to learn from him and smile ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

I'm recently back from my first holiday to Scotland, what a beautiful scenic country and the people were extremely friendly and helpful...none more so than one of the Shiel Buses managers who was helping out covering the route from Fort William to the Stall Falls last week...
We caught the bus from Glen Nevis Campsite, not a bus stop sign in sight.
We waved the bus down as there wasn't
a bus stop . The bus stopped and waited whilst we crossed the road..I was using crutches so took a bit longer.. The bus driver was most helpful...
If they made a program on the most scenic bus routes in Great Britain and beyond that route would be on it... Beautiful..and to see the Highland Coos' as well, what a bonus... I'm told they're all called Haymish...
We alightened at the final stop Stall Falls the weather was good so I walked

Iโ€™ve been visiting this part of the Highlands for over 55 years long enough to know the rhythms of single-track roads, the value of a well-timed passing place, and the unspoken etiquette that usually governs it all.

So it was disappointing to be met with the old "tourist must reverse" routine from a Sheil bus near Acharacle village hall despite there being a perfectly good passing place right there. The driver ploughed on, leaving us to do the awkward shuffle backward. Not unsafe, but definitely unnecessary.

Contrast that with the next Sheil bus at Newton of Ardtoe, whose driver handled the approach with the kind of grace and courtesy Highland roads should be known for. A small gesture, but one that restores the spirit of travel up here.

After five decades of visits, I still love this place but local drivers, especially professionals, set the tone. A little more consistency in that Highland hospitality wouldnโ€™t go amiss.

Atrocious. Buses from Fort William to Onich go once every two to three weeks and then the driver doesnโ€™t even stop when he sees us waiting at the bus station? Just lost us two precious hours for nothing. Unreliable service!

Always immaculate vehicles with courteous drivers. Shiel Buses serve such a remote and challenging area where unavoidable delays and stresses in the peak season can be inevitable.
A great range of services and modern vehicles - they are part of the scenery!
