A colleague and I stayed at Lifton Hall for one night while on a business trip, and we had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. It happened to be quiz night, and we were kindly invited to join in the fun.||||We were greeted by the owner Robert, who was friendly and helpful. After checking into our rooms—which were fabulous: clean, tidy, and comfortable—we enjoyed a drink in the courtyard. Later, we got ready for dinner and had a lovely meal in the adjacent kitchen area before taking part in the quiz. We were served by another fabulous manager, Richard, who was also the quiz organiser and presenter. It turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening.||||The food was fantastic, both at dinner and again at breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay here again. I only wish I had taken some photos to share!||||If you're planning to stay in Lifton, I highly recommend Lifton Hall. Thanks for reading. Cheers!

This is our second stay at this establishment. I previously stayed here in May, and we returned as we have more work in the area. Just like our first visit, it was Quiz Night (held on Wednesdays), and the managers (Robert & Richard) kindly let us participate again.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed some drinks in the rear courtyard area before having dinner. The food was exceptional. I had a gourmet hamburger and chips, and it was one of the best hamburgers I have ever had! See attached photo.

Regarding the quiz, we sat in the snug this time as the main restaurant area was fully booked. Nonetheless, the hosts made a great effort to make us feel involved. There was a speaker system that allowed us to hear the quiz, and the quiz master (Richard) checked on us intermittently.

This time, I stayed in The Priory room (I was in the Eleanor room on the previous occasion). The room was clean and wonderful, as was the bathroom. On departure this morning, we chose to have the omelet for breakfast. It was amazing, like a calzone with cheese and bacon inside.

All in all, we were made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere was brilliant (it was quiz night), and the building, rooms, decor, service and food were all excellent. We shall come again if we have more work in the area.

Was really made welcome here. The room was so tastefully decorated and although the building is extremely old the room had that cozy cottage feel. Very comfortable bed so slept really soundly. Breakfast was great, You are given a menu and an actual chef prepares your food. No, the plastic under the headlamp food, here. We requested some ice on the first night , the second night 5 minutes after we got into our room there was a tap on the door and there was the owner with ice for us. Well worth the visit. Lovely stay at Lifton Hall we had two rooms (rather than an apartment) and they were both wonderful, spacious, comfortable, fabulous coffee machine (always a win for me) with a really nice feel about them. The hotel is very tastefully done it feels welcoming, comfortable and so stylish in keeping with its age. Hosts are absolutely super very friendly and totally professional which can be a difficult balance but they do it perfectly! Our breakfasts were en point, fresh produce beautifully cooked and presented with just the right amount. Sunday lunch was amazing! And the scones perfect! So light and fluffy! Had a bit of FOMO as wish had booked an afternoon tea but only so much you can eat over two nights ;-)) Thanks Lifton Hall you smashed it out of the park

Visited this place on Lifton for an afternoon tea. Quiet and pleasant experience with excellent food and wide choice of teas. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and was served in a small bar like area which was clean, attractive and interesting. Also has large outside area which presumably you could choose if weather appropriate. Plenty of parking and just off the A30 just in Devon so make sure you order your clotted cream and jam correctly on your scones. Also has hotel rooms, restaurant and bar but no knowledge of these.

Food is top notch, breakfasts unmissable top marks to the chef and staff, rooms very comfy and I love how old this hotel is with lots of original features many centuries old… would stay again👍👍👍👍👍

We stayed over a weekend as a large family group celebrating a significant birthday. The private reception areas are fantastic and the large sociable kitchen/ dining space is superb! Bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. On one night we all dined in the adjacent restaurant and the food and service was exceptional. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue. The village is delightful and good access to road networks and open countryside. Thank you 😀

A delightful place to stay and eat. We had a comfortable room, warm and quiet. We took advantage of their 2 night offer. The food is first class and the service very good. The hosts had an eye for attention to detail.|Excellent village for touring this part of Devon and north Cornwall Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, Tavistock all less than an hour away.
