I have a real soft spot for this shop. I've just come back from a holiday where I stayed on Harbour Road, literally just down the street from the store. I bought three items of notable quality during my stay. The first was a Scotch pie, which was great, the second, a mince steak pie, top notch, and a lemon and white chocolate cake, which my wife and I loved. The staff were chatty and much of the stock is treatworthy. It's a fantastic little shop.

As of 4 April 2022 this lovely little shop is Now open. It has a small grocery section with fresh veggies and fruit. Also a few local (Northumberland) gifts. Newspapers also available. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Wow, there obviously seems to be some agenda going on with these polarising reviews! Let me tell you my own personal story. Went in three times when stopping at the campsite up the road. Good professional and courteous service on all occasions from the lady of the shop. Today, I bought two cards when my wife had clearly told me to buy postcards. Back into the shop I go to ask if I could possibly give the cards back and get postcards instead. not a problem says the man and gives me the £5.60 cash straight out of the till no questions asked even though I paid by bank card and he could have said they don’t accept returns. I get two post cards and give him a £1 of his money back. “You’re back in the good books now” says the man and he was right.

I work up here at weekends busy shop well stocked yes guys a little abrupt but he does a bloody good service if that's his way then so be it hes not rude and always been polite thank you! that's all anyone can ask for great shop lovely sandwiches pies competitive prices for holiday village well done for putting up with the public I say!!!!

The owner is the most obnoxious, rude & aggressive man I have ever come across running a shop. He insulted my wife personally then told myself & young son to empty our basket & shop elsewhere as we had parked outside his shop 10 minutes prior (there is no signage to say shop parking only & the place was empty of cars). Its a shame you can't give no stars, so do yourself a favour & drive right past this nasty little mans shop & carry on to Seahouses. Doesn't deserve to stay in business with attitude like this

After waiting outside for our turn to go in (only 4 in shop due to covid) the woman behind the counter let her 2 friends come in as well.
Then while my daughter and I were reading the ingredients on a cake and some biscuits (allergies etc) she rudely and sternly asked us to hurry up as other people wanted to come in.
Really poor attitude considering everyone else we met were friendly and welcoming

A very friendly couple run this well stocked village shop with everything from newspapers to toothbrushes. The fresh bread and Deli section is a bonus and lovely scented candles and local gifts are also available.
