I recently purchased a property from Barratt Homes at Wintringham, and I couldn’t be happier! The area is lovely with a fantastic community feel and outstanding natural beauty, we even saw the Northern Lights during our first weeks here.

David and Tyler have been incredibly helpful throughout the process, especially in addressing all the snags we’ve identified, which have primarily been decorative. Their support has made settling into our new home a smooth experience. I highly recommend Barratt Homes for anyone looking to buy in this area!

Started off OK and its been a full year of headaches.
I dont mind snags but some of the installations especially plumbing and electrics have been awful.

So garden poor - replaced turf myself.
Electric lights in kitchen not lined up. Off by 5cm. Plug sockets sunk.
Lack of insialtion in loft causing damp. Should be resolved by tomorrow.
10 new windows got replaced which was good.
Bath installed touching a bolt causing tiny hole and small leak for a year. This made huge mold issue in bathroom and damp went into next room which STILL hasnt been resolved.

I was ignored for 2 months so took my grievance to facebook which then got attention. They agreed £1500 500 of which was goodwill. This was agreed July.

It then took until 2nd half of September to get the money which was needed to pay for the damage to the bathroom. And even then it took a few emails and frosty phone calls.

Damp in spare room still outstanding even though i emailed last week. No reply. This was initially reported July. Its now last week of September!

After the money offer and apology i was going to have a clean slate with Barratts. However the effort to get paid and the outstanding work ive had it with them.

We then sprang a leak in downstairs loo at quite a heavy rate. Being a weekend i called dyno rod as i had a policy. He came and found the screws to cistern tank all loose and badly fitted. The flush valve still leaked but because dyno rod installed it my warranty for the loo has gone. My fault for wanting a fast fix.

Would i recommend barratts or do this all again? No i should have gone to Carla homes as we had a choice.

To show the bathroom damage off i will attach a photo. £500 for this fix and i accepted. Luckily i decided to install a shower and removed the tiles. The mold had crept behind all the tiles up the wall as they used very little adhesive. £500 isnt enough but not a lot I can do about that. Im glad i took ths tiles off as the damp would have festered for years until i changed bathroom.

Truly shocking so either avoid or knock £20k off the offer if you do buy to help with your own repairs.

We've been really impressed with the service from Barratt Wintringham. Thank you Morgen M for guiding us through buying a new build home, being patient with all our questions and so accommodating in terms of selling our existing property.
