Stay here. It’s excellent. A great attitude from the owners and their staff. Proper food. Nice beer….and Mini Cheddars! What’s not to like.

Stayed in a rented cottage just behind the pub from 1st to 6th June 2019. In all we were a group of 12 and ate at the Buck Inn every evening. The menu is small, affordable, standard pub food (burger, fish and chips, steak and ale pie etc.) cooked well and very tasty.
During those few days we got to know the landlord quite well. It seems that they used to have two pubs but, since December, are now resident and concentrating on this one.
Our food and drinks were without fault and, I suggest, the early poor review is due to the previous chefs aspirations and the owners not being on site.
I would not hesitate to return here and would even stay in one of the available rooms.

Utterly ridiculous. 'Fine dining', small portions and £35 set menu in the heart of walking and camping country? Madness. The interior is horrendous: everything original has been torn out and it's as cosy as an aircraft hangar. The chef was lounging behind the bar at 6.30pm on a Saturday: I'm guessing they're never busy.
