Kindly staff (just the one). Waited 15m for bureau de change (open but no one there) Decided to cut my loses and queue for the normal till and was told after another 10 minutes wait for her, it's not actually open and she can't help.

The staff are quite fast working, so I choose this Post Office option - even when there's a queue it's bearable, or else go for a coffee and return later when it's quiet. The shop is too expensive though, I will buy envelopes across the road.

Waited half an hour in the queue to be told the returns machine wasn't working. Said maybe they could put up a sign, just stick up a note even as it's not the first time this has happened and told 'we're too busy for that'. They will not respect your time here, go elsewhere if you can

Really great service from a young man, very friendly and helped me with some queries about stamps! I wish all Post Offices were as nice as this one 🙂

Went on the 27/07/2024, the two girls behind the counter were fighting over who want to bother to work.

Handed my V5c to pay for road tax as a new keeper and the girl behind counter clearly did not know what she was doing, I was the only customer and they were going back and forth. The one serving me was getting annoyed whilst the other was sitting on her phone.

The girl that did the road tax request stated I needed to hand over my full V5. I stated this should not be the case and it says online not to do this, she stated it's fine we do this all the time.

I know have been removed as a keeper as they have sent off the V5c to the DVLA making them think I was the old keeper. The car has become untaxed and it will now take 4-8 weeks to resolve and remove the additional keeper which was not needed to be added. All because of inexperienced rude staff.

Sort it out as this has delayed me going away with my car now and has caused me to not be able to tax the car again until I get the new V5c back.

Very angry, would avoid!!!

3rd in the queue 40 minute wait.
This is not a criticism of the staff, which I am sure do their best but are super stressed by the staff levels and the multiple responsibilities they are handed by the Post Office.

So I have been a few times and its been very busy, so well I decide I will go at a time deemed not busy. I arrive . . hooray only 3 people in the queue in-front of me instead of the usual 256 people, how wrong could I be, 40 minutes later I get seen.

This is because the post office handle so many different things, passports , foreign exchange, parcels for business , residential post, travel, insurance, and the list goes on.

The staff looked bewildered and stressed from having to deal with so many things, one having to take passport photos against the wall while another waited because they had an issue with something else. Once the other staff member had finished doing the passport photo she went to assist the staff member who had been standing there red faced in embarrassment at their inability to solve the problem they had. The other staff member also looks perplexed stands there for another 10 minutes.

That staff member realises they too cannot solve the problem so tells the passport guy he has to wait ( who now looked like he was about to dig his own grave ) then heads off across the WH Smith floor to find someone more senior. . . we wait and wait, they come back and all three of them seem engaged in the same problem.

Finally I get seen and the staff member fails to count my money correctly twice, then exchanges it and fails to count the money out correctly in front of me, they give up looking at me like a rabbit in the headlights and says sorry my heads completely gone. I gladly counted the money out in front of her placing the money on the counter so she could clearly see the correct amount was there and assured her all was ok as she looked like she was about to cry and walk out.

Post office sort it out. it doesn't help that in Lewes you have to queue in a narrow aisle, in a store, the queue is always huge always a complete disaster and with all the high street banks closing ( which is why I had to go to the Post Office . . . it is going to be even more of a disaster.

I visited this post office to send my postcard to my parents in my country, but the staff took a lunch break when I went there, so I had to wait for a while. I felt a little stress while waiting.
