This is a difficult place to review. The location is right by the harbour. The food is wonderful. The rooms on the top floor are in the eaves so some stooping is required on one side of the room. My bathroom was on the opposite side of the corridor and the shower was quite cramped. I think if you're over 6ft then room 15 is not for you. It's a quiet location too and convenient for all the shops and the bus stop.

Restaurant review: My husband said the pork burger he had was like nothing he's had before and up there with the best burger he's ever had. He eats a lot of burgers and is quite critical so that's high praise indeed. Open on Mondays when almost everything else in town is closed for dinner, place packed with both locals and tourists and after dining here it's obvious why - great food, great atmosphere, friendly and attentive service without being overdone. Recommend booking (although they were good enough to squeeze us in without a reservation on the night we dined). The next night we decided to try somewhere different and regretted our decision after an expensive meal with disappointing food and unfriendly service. Just eat here.

Came in for a quick lunch on a Monday with 2 teens and 2 x 5 and unders. The food and service was exceptional. Smiles and laughs from the staff and the pork burger was amazing! Apparently the fish and chips were too. Prosecco on a sunny day was also accommodated 🙂 Highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch here while enjoying Tobermory, we did not stay at the hotel. The restaurant is on the harbor and the inside is a traditional Scottish coastal heritage. Extensive menu with many seafood options. Full ball with a wide variety of local whiskeys. Service was excellent.
Food was 3 stars only . Husband had the Cullen skink which had a lot of bones in it so he had a hard time with it. I had fish and chips, fish was only okay but the chips were awesome!

Stopped in for dinner. Didn’t have either of our first options on the menu, which is understandable, but then the burgers came out with cold fries. Best part of the mains was the onions rings. And the staff worked hard on upselling with wine - asked for the house wine, got pushed towards the Sancerre, at £14.30 for 175ml, instead. Might have given it 4* but the 10% service charge added to the bill as standard knocked it down.

We went here for our dinner & although the staff were lovely the food was terrible. |My meal was just about inedible. |We did get a 10% discount but for an 18£ dish ……I had to go to the chippy after. |The veggie burger & chips were ok, but below standard. The “risotto” I had was effectively rice & spinach soup with cheese. |Nice environment, pricey but nice wine. Lovely staff.

We had a lovely family evening meal last Saturday at the Tobermory Hotel. Being by the sea in such a picturesque location we had to go ‘all out’ on the seafood, and it was wonderful. We got great advice of what to have from the staff, who were very helpful and informative. Harry on advice re wines, and Molly and Amy on what to have with what re the food choices. Amy’s suggestion of adding a portion of ribs went down well with one of our party and they were delicious. The food, ambiance and service was excellent and our thanks to Amy, Molly and Harry for looking after us. We look forward to a return visit.
