Had an amazing experience using Stromness Taxi! We were at Skara Brae and had to get back to Stromness (to catch the ferry back to Scrabster). Our taxi driver arrived exactly when he said he would and got us back to Stromness, with plenty of time to take the ferry.

The first time I have used a taxi in Orkney. Service was fine and driver very pleasant...but a bit expensive. It cost £21 to go 3.5miles from Finstown to Stenness. Just in case anyone wants an idea. I don't know how much other taxi companies charge. Perhaps best ask for a quote up front.

Will never be using this service again. Harassed for months over a fine that had nothing to do with me, for a taxi I was not in, and to find out it was paid already in the first place. This was a problem that would have been easily solved if they had checked their bank account. A lot of unnecessary stress and there's plenty of other competitor companies with better service.

I called to order taxi and the gentleman on the phone delivered me a quite hateful lecture about how he and other drivers are upset that tourists are coming to their island during COVID. I think that personal opinion was unnecessary and if indeed tourists are unwelcome here then it should be made very clear by local authorities. I don't think it is or should be legal to not serve tourists.
