The Hamilton Central is a train station that has a bus station attached to it, plus a shop. It's not too bad and it has good links to Glasgow Central and Motherwell. It is in an ideal location and an easy walk to the shopping center. I do find at night it can be a bit rowdy but during the day it's fine.

Basic station, located close to buses, taxis. Ticket office - restricted opening hours, no toilet facilities, good wheelchair access, provided lifts working.

Recently refurbished in Spring 2017 with a brand new covered overpass linking the 2 platforms. New lift installed. Ticket office now located on Platform 1 (going towards Glasgow) with waiting room and Ticket Machines (pay by debit, credit or smart card only) both platforms inside Shelter. A lot better.

Nice clean bus station, friendly staff. Newsagets next door. A little intimidating on a Sunday evening with school age children hanging about breaking bottles. Staff did not challenge them!

Me and a few pals were sitting talking waiting for one of us to get a train which was absurdly late. We heard the high pitched buzzing noise which went on for ages. Eventually the buzzing noise stopped and a worker told us to go away. We told him we were waiting on a train and he walked away and kept giving us dirty looks.
