Parked with my mum and disabled dad in an unmarked space, only to be snapped at by a rude worker that it was staff parking only. There was nothing to indicate it was staff parking. We were then accused that we "had to have moved a cone to be able to park there". She snippily told us several times we had to move even though we had already agreed to move. Again there was no indication that it was staff parking only and so her disgusting attitude was uncalled for, had she approached and said, nicely "sorry, this part is reserved for staff" we'd have had chance to say we didn't realise as there's no indication and happily moved on. Instead she was rude and confrontational. A bit of customer service training would go a long way here.

I do love coming to Ayr station, it's kind of quirky with a hint of old school to it. The previous station is undergoing renovation but it's taking an age, but the replacement area suits just fine. The ticket machines could use an update (there's only one of them) but it's a clean and comfortable station, open plan, only one bridge. Canny enough.

There is no sign anywhere on the entire huge block surrounding the building under demolition. I walked on the wrong side of the block, adding 10 minutes. In the dark it would be nearly impossible. I don’t think there is any proper shelter. FYI the entrance is farthest from the town centre.

Unfortunately I have to give this station a poor review. 75% of the time, the platforms are wrong either on the app, on the signs at the station, or both. As someone who is often traveling with children and a pram, this has resulted in missed trains, as you have to walk around the block to get to platform 4. It must be especially horrible for folks with mobility issues. This is not a one-off problem.

Decent station, though undergoing a lot of disruption at the moment due to work on the dilapidated adjacent hotel.

The hotel is being renovated so there is construction work everywhere. There are staff to help you with luggage over the bridge, which is great. On the downside the toilets are out of action so I had to use a portaloo! Gross!

Rude and unhelpful staff at Ayr station , refusing to give assistance when train was cancelled at a last minute and platforms changed from 4 to 1. We asked for an assistance as many stairs but a man in orange vest,Manager? told us we have enough time to walk round the station with 20 + kg case. It took 20 min and a lot of effort as I am a senior citizen.
Due to cancelled Ayr train we missed London train from Glasgow. The staff at Ayr station could not care less. Totally unhelpful staff. Do not deserve pay raise!!!
