If you're looking for a moving company to safely transport your belongings, do not use Purdie Worldwide. I trusted them with a house move to UAE, and the result was devastating.
----Over half of my furniture was damaged due to their careless and unprofessional packing methods.
My 75-inch TV was wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap—no cardboard, no corner protection—and arrived with chipped corners.
A glass tabletop was loosely thrown in with wooden items, leaving it completely shattered.
Marble furniture wasn’t dismantled or secured properly, resulting in significant chips and scratches.
Even a table clearly marked "FRAGILE" was given the same inadequate packing treatment and is now broken beyond repair.
I have photo evidence to back up every claim. The insurance payout didn’t come close to covering the value of the damaged items, and Purdie Worldwide hasn’t offered any meaningful compensation for their shocking negligence.
If you value your belongings, stay away from this company.

I wouldn’t recommend storing your items/property within their storage units if you value them.
We stored our items in one of their units for over a year. We checked our items regularly. On one of our more recent visits we noted damp floors throughout the warehouse, I reported this to the receptionist and we received no follow up from Purdie Worldwide despite being advised I would be contacted. I gave our notice & arranged a van to collect my items, only to find that nearly every item was damaged by damp & mould. We reported this at reception & I was advised it would be looked into. We never heard anything more until I sent picture & video evidence, which highlighted the poor condition of the warehouse & units. They meeting was arranged with Neil Purdie, he admitted to Purdies Worldwide being at fault & the damage to our goods was caused by their negligence. He admitted that their warehouse was not weatherproof, there was external damage that was allowing rain water into the warehouse & units inside. Strangely, they didn’t offer to cover the value of our goods, they insisted it was processed through our insurance.
It took many months of chasing Purdies to receive an update, sometimes it would take weeks & multiple emails before we finally received a reply. They took no ownership of the issue. We first raised the damp & mould issue in July & we were only offered a settlement fee last week. 3 months of Purdies & the insurance company messing us around before they finally paid out, which wasn’t to the full value of our insurance (despite being promised by Neil they would make sure we received the full value).
Purdies offered to cover our £50 excess fee which they felt was an adequate offer to cover the loss of goods (including priceless personal items), the delay & the stress and inconvenience they caused us for months. They felt because the insurance agreed a settlement fee that our complaint was resolved.
£50 and an apology does not cover the stress you have put my family and I under for the last 3 months due to your staff dragging their heels and showing lack of care or even an interest. The settlement fee covers the value of our goods and it’s disgusting that Purdies Worldwide feels that an apology, blaming the insurance company and £50 is sufficient to cover the stress and inconvenience they have caused us.
We certainly will never use or recommend Purdies Worldwide. We’ve shown friends, family & work colleagues the damp & mould within the unit and warehouse & they are shocked.
We were understanding & very patient with Purdies Worldwide at the beginning. We could have easily shared our experience via social media and pursued legal advice , yet we gave them the opportunity to resolve this. However, it’s now clear they had no intention or interest in resolving the issue they caused and instead passed it off to insurance company and ignored us for weeks at a time. In my opinion Purdies Worldwide should have dealt with this internally & as a matter of urgency. They’ve went through the insurance to save some money & haven’t thought of the customer at all.
It’s shameful from a company that claims to be a ‘dependable Family business, who treat their customers as if they are part of the family’. The office staff are rude, unhelpful & they lack basic communication skills. No doubt they will reply to this honest review with some absolute nonsense or try to blame the insurance company for the delay. However, please bear in mind that Purdies caused this issue, not the insurance company.
If you currently have items within their unit then I’d strongly recommend you thoroughly check your items as soon as possible.
*The fact that they have replied to this review and chosen to ignore my most recent email, confirms that they do not care for current customers and they only replied in an attempt to look like a decent company to any potential new customers who read their reviews.*

We booked Purdie Worldwide for our 3 bed house move in West Lothian. Simon and Ian were great, arrived on time, handled all our belongings carefully and had our move completed by 15:30. Our sofa and all cushions were wrapped for protection, the garden plants and furniture went into a second van, and they lent us a few wardrobe boxes to use on the day. Competitive prices and excellent service!

I would recommend Purdie Worldwide for your next move. They took most of the stress out of our move. Friendly, helpful staff and an amazing driver. We don't move very often. Our last move was with Purdie 37 years ago. They were great then and they are still great today.

Team of 3 Daniel Mikey and Shug. What a shift they put in on the day they couldn't be more helpful and done everything they could to make the move a easy as possible. You get what you pay for and this was worth every penny.
