We recently used 1st choice removals to carry out our house move. We had a nice gent come round to survey our house and explain what they would do and that they use all the protective padding to cover door frames and doors and special stair protectors to protect carpets etc. they weren’t the cheapest quote by a distance however we liked the surveyor and everything he had promised.

On moving day 3 vans arrived and 4 or 5 men we showed them around and told them what had to be moved. Unfortunately it would appear the van with all the doorframe protection and door protection didn’t turn up and within seconds they removed the front door and rested it up against the living room window. A rubber mat was placed on the stairs and then promptly removed as they were tripping on it due to not using the promised stair bars!

Whilst removing our 2 month old double chest of drawers they managed to put a great chip in the side and snap two plinths, another dropped a plastic crate on the path outside smashing an antique cake stand that had been in my wife’s family since the early 1950 and then sweeping it up and throwing it in the bin (I assume trying to hide the evidence) unfortunately for him 2 of us saw him do it and questioned him straight away!

We arrived at our new property which we had just had decorated throughout. Unfortunately the covers promised had still not found there way to us. Everything was placed in the house at double quick speed. Unfortunately in the rush a chunk was taken out of our hallway wall as they were trying to force the bedframe in to our bedroom. Another box was dropped smashing a decorative ornament.

I was told by the men that I would have to email the company to report damages.

I emailed in and was asked to fill in a claim form which I duly did. I was more than fair with the replacement costs which came to a total of £325. I have today recieved an offer of £99! and for them to send one of they’re team round to repaint a wall that needs filling sanding and painting.

Needless to say this pathetic offer has been rejected.

Would seriously not recommend this company to anybody totally unprofessional outfit.

Rob and Ash were friendly, efficient, courteous and careful with our belongings. As part of our move we requested extra coverings for our sofas - we were very impressed at the quality of coverings and care taken to protect our furniture. No damage and boxes were delivered to the correct rooms. We would highly consider 1st Choice Removals for any future move.

Now used for a 2nd time. As good as the first.

Mike, Tom & Clint were superb. Friendly, efficient and made the day super easy.

Dealt with a delay in getting into the property professionally and calmly.

The team also went the extra mile to help protect the carpets & doors in both the property I was moving into as well as out. Thick padded covers went on the doors, mats on the main thoroughfares and plastic up the stairs.

Excellent from start to finish.

Received a very fair quote, along with different options at different costs. Informative without being pushy on the sale.

Phone communication prior to move was excellent and despite opting for a 2 man option, 3 turned up on the day.

3 cheeky guys, but that helped reduce the stress on the day and kept everything light hearted (providing your fuelled them with coffee)!

Handled the 4 hour delay in getting keys well and unloaded swiftly.

Brilliant! Can't find a fault with them.

What can we say, Clint and Phil were absolutely amazing, they took care of all our stuff from the flat first thing in the morning and made the process so easy and even had a sense of humor. We had a bit of a problem when we moved into our new property but again Clint and Phil were understanding and went above and beyond. Our second load was just as amazing as the first, there was a bit of a time delay but they kept us informed and even had 4 chaps unloading the van. We will definitely recommend this company for removals.
